Project Coordinator

We are currently looking for a dynamic and motivated individual, possessing a solid business acumen and ability to work independently based on direction provided by the Project Management team.
Position Location: Summerside Area, Edmonton, Alberta or Oxbow, Saskatchewan
Key responsibilities will include:
- Assisting the project manager with overall project performance including cost, schedule, safety and quality.
- Assisting in overall coordination, planning, and identifying potential risks and resolving shop technical issues.
- Performing quantity takeoffs and surveys to manage contract progress and reporting.
- Developing and maintaining excellent relationships with our partners through activities such as issuing tender packages, defining scopes of work, answering inquiries and monitoring progress.
- Compiling supporting documents for monthly reporting and invoicing.
- Assisting with change management and change order process, including pricing, processing, and assessing cost and schedule impact.
- Administering RFI and shop drawing and submittal process.
- Subcontracting package development and management
- Day to day schedule update/tracking – Ensure IFS drawings and materials are in place
- Support NCR corrective actions, and follow up on close out.
- Generate purchase requisitions for project materials and coordination of shipments.
- Administer meeting minutes and distribution of minutes.
- Assisting with overall project closeout including archiving documents.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in the environment of steel fabrication and/or construction, projects.
- Demonstrable record of project management on a major high value fabrication, and construction projects within the expected scope, quality, schedule, and budget. Experience must span the full cycle of a project.
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in engineering, project management, business administration or CET designation will be considered an asset.
- Knowledge of drafting software (i.e. Tekla, AutoCAD Solidworks or other equivalent systems).
- Knowledge of scheduling software (i.e. Primavera, Microsoft Project or other equivalent systems).
- Knowledge blueprints and project specifications, and related documents.
- Strong knowledge of fabrication, and construction methods, change management and risk planning.
- Ability to read and create a production schedule.
- A team player, who can interrelate and operate effectively with peers and other associates within a collegial, yet demanding, work environment.
- Ability to handle a variety of constituencies, juggle multiple tasks simultaneously and thrive in a complex environment with multiple priorities.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project).
- Highly Developed:
- Organizational skills and the ability to be flexible in managing changing priorities,
- Communication Skills – Both Written and Oral,
- Interpersonal Skills,
